![]() June with her ukelele June Cole is an actress, performer, entertainer, singer who has spent more than three decades on the stage. She graduated with a BFA in Dramatic Arts from Windsor, University and went on to perform on stages from Houston, Texas, to National Arts Centre to Red Barn Theatre in Jackson's Point. Along the way, June made many appearances at other theatres including the Grand, McManus, Toronto's Solar Stage, Port Stanley, and the Arts Project in London, Ontario. In the 1980's she was a founding member of the London Actors' Showcase Theatre. Then, she, with Jake Levesque and Heather Brandt, formed the StoryPlayers, which for 15 years delighted thousands of London's school children with their own brand of classic fairy and folk tales. In between, she performed in numerous films and television productions as well as voiceovers for radio and TV. In 1995, June began writing monologues about the quirky things she observed in life. And in 1999, to provide a place to offer these monologues, she created Diversities, an old-fashioned variety show which ran bimonthly for 8 years. This show showcased some of London's best talent. The Diversities motto was "Celebrating the Creative Spirit". She also operated her own home-based business, Creature Comfort Pet Sitting, a personal pet care service. In 2005, she wrote and presented her own one woman show entitled "Someday My Purse Will Come" which was performed during the London Fringe Festival at the Arts Project. It was during this show that a passion for the ukelele sprouted. She ventured to the east coast to the International Ukulele Ceilidh in 2007 and returned with an ardent desire to establish a ukulele society here in London. She has now started a ukelele band at Old East Studios called SOUP, the Southern Ontario Ukelele Players. In addition, she brings her love of broadway to retirement homes in Encore Productions "On With the Show", performing again with her friends Jake Levesque and Heather Brandt. She lives in London with her retired artist, actor husband Harry Booker and three wiener dogs and two cats. Oh, yes, she also started Wienerfest, a wonderful annual picnic for wiener dogs in Thamesford.
